INTERMISSION

Happy Saturday gals and gents! sorry for the long intermission between blogs. my internet service was down and i finally got it resolved Friday. it's been very challenging, when i call the internet company they come out and say all is fine when it isn't, so this creates allot of back and forth which gets annoying. especially when it interferes with work!

Today i had my first yard sale ever, i cleaned out my storage and house AND finally got rid of things i just never use. i had tons of Zoe's clothes and shoes...since ya know kids grow fast and it was nice making money on items in great condition that other wise would go to Goodwill and sell for allot more then what i charged. all together i made $130, which was exactly what i needed to buy a BBQ for our new home and room decor for Zo's new found bedroom. it was pretty awesome, especially meeting new neighbors and chit chatting with folks.



i will be picking up steam this week and le blog will be in full post mode. i took time to write down many ideas in my internet-less week along with lots of brainstorming on what direction i would like to take the blog. i have been thinking allot about this subject lately because i really want to connect with my readers. thanks to all of you who follow me, i appreciate you all!

i'm off to an art show in Downtown L.A. with a good friend, wishing you all good one!

OH SUNDAY!

Happy Sunday all! my whole weekend has been a weekend full of work! i've been preparing a bunch of vintage shoes and purses that will be hitting the shop all week long. allot of fun to see some of the vintage i have had stored up; some items i haven't seen in years..and how marvellous to see that some are on trend right now...

i will be posting for sale my own NOW vintage platform booties from the 90's that i got when i was 16! darn, i still wish i would of kept allot of my vintage items from my teens, i'm sure allot of us feel that way...back then not knowing i would be a vintage seller although i did desire it along with being an apparel designer...i do feel blessed that i have now achieved both, although more recently i have been putting more effort into my vintage ambitions which has been on the back burner since 2001...ouch it's been a while!

below is a sneak peak, of the vintage i will be starting to post as of tonight! after i go tackle my storage from my previous apartment which the property manager let me keep meanwhile we settled into our new home..the purpose was to bring everything over a little at a time, and boy wouldn't you know it i procrastinated and now the apartment has been rented out and i have to get everything out TODAY! jeez this is the lesson i never learn, procrastination NEVER pays off!

MINI SHOP UPDATE

Happy Wednesday! i am pretty happy that the week is going by pretty quickly at work. it was nice to have my Birthday off and it made the week shorter for me!

today at work one of my co-workers looked at me and very calmly asked it i felt the earthquake; i was in mid conversation with someone and felt nothing until i firmly placed my feet on the ground and felt the building jolting back and forth...FREAKY a 5.4 ..thank God it was not a bad one, but i can say without hesitation that i don't think i'll ever get used to earthquakes like some native Californians are..

todays update post is a mini one, i'm 20 away from 100 in the Etsy store, which was a previous goal..over the next few weeks i will be packing the store with 100 more items if time permits...i want to have a total of 200 items going by this months end..

as i mentioned in a previous post i'm super stoked to have a fellow blogger model for me in next weekends photo-shoot..can't wait to meet her and have her model my vintage!

STYLE CRUSH: KURT COBAIN

Happy Tuesday! so in tune with my grungy week of course my style crush had to be Kurt Cobain..i was talking to my friends Amy this weekend about growing up in the 90's, i was a teenager during that time and it brought back so many memories..i completely remember being exactly towards the end of 8th grade when the video for Teen Spirit played over and over and over again on MTV and i got hooked! i wasn't so much a fan of Nirvana ALTHOUGH i think they were great, but i loved the whole look of the scene especially Kurt Cobains eclectic granny/thrasher look in other words grungy..i wonder how that word came about?!

i like how he beat to his own drum and his use of vintage. his mohair sweaters, striped sweaters, cardigans combined with ripped or patched up jeans and his chucks...seems simple but he pulled it of well..i don't ever recall him wearing combat boots although i could be wrong...i would wear everything in his closet! it's sad how young he died but his memory does definitely live on..

OUTFIT POST: BIRTHDAY DRESS

Happy Monday! it's my birthday Monday, i turn the big 33! i have to pinch myself sometimes to make sure i'm really in my 30's! the years have gone by so quickly and well i don't feel like i'm in my 30's at all; BUT i do see the difference in my way of thinking and i guess that's what you call maturity...ummm and i LIKE it! i am one of the worlds biggest goof balls, just ask Zoe and my friends; so that's why i feel like a big kid at times...

i just want to thank you ALL who have left such great comments and Birthday wishes on my Facebook..it's nice to know how blessed i am with such great family and friends + new found friends! again THANK you all, it means allot!



i'm going back to my teenage roots with this outfit, just missing my combat boots which i have fixing at the shoe doctor..they are my original pair from 1994! glad i kept them, goes to show their craftsman-ship because i beat those boots up pretty well..
