THRIFT FINDS!
i so very much enjoyed my trip to Vegas..still recovering trying to get into the swing of work i pretty much have been coming home and passing out early catching up on zzzz's..i'm off kilter!
as i mentioned before i had a great buying trip along with le boyfreind..he racked up on some really cool outer wear..a great 70's sherpa suede vest, 70's western suede snap button jacket, 70's leather bomber jacket, 70's quilted vest & a 70's velvet fitted italian blazer..oh and not to mention 5 glasses / aviators from the 60's & 70's..needless to say he was a happy trooper..the boys tend to have a harder time finding quality vintage goods in the thrift.
i found great finds for the home along with more owl stuff to add to my collection..i got a great 70's owl art on wooden frame, owl candle holder, vintage 70's yarn in brown & yellow AAAAAND the best memorabilia from my child hood ever ..original PAC-MAN coffee mugs from the 80's!
i collect vintage coffee mugs beacuse i love consuming lots of coffee and lots of tea! another collection...it's hard
hope you all have a lovely thursday...i'm on tomorrow already!

MOVIE NIGHT
hi all! me & the Zo Miester have made a tradition of watching movies together on Friday nights, eating junk food and laughing, crying or bearing the cheese together..
i've made it a point to expose her to movies from different era's..great movies like How to Steal A Million and Singing in the Rain (the musical before HM) we also have watched the 80's movies i grew up with..we love the cheesy lines, great clothes and the actors that in some cases are no longer in movies.
here are 10 of our favorites....
Zo's favorite, Gremlins...how cute is Gizmo?!
my favorite E.T...i still cry..
Weird Science..all of John Hughes films are classics..Kelly Lebrocks outfits in the film are to dye for..
Big..we want the big keyboard oh and the loft in NY..
Splash..ah Daryl Hannah and her crimped hair...and the name Madison is great..
Can't Buy Me Love...the so called nerd wins the girl..
Kramer vs Kramer..although a 1979 film we are going to count it in the 80's..we really enjoyed this film..the acting is superb by all three characters..and Meryl Streep is just GORGEOUS in this film..costume design is great too..
Dirty Dancing...no one puts Baby in the corner..
Adventures in Babysitting..Elizabeth Shue sooo cute..
Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi...we heart Chewbacca..we want a Wookie! of course great classic film..
although most of these films are PG i did have to cover her eyes in some scenes....just a heads up..there are still quite a few 80's flicks we need to catch up with..like Parenthood and Stand by me..we enjoy spending this time together talking and watching on the couch...i'm looking forward to tomorrows movie night with her...
hope your having a good one

I LOVE MY DRAPED CAPE!
hello there..i have not done a wardrobe post since the start of my blog back in February..long time..i was not sure how i felt about myself doing personal outfit post but i highly enjoy viewing others such as Kingdom of Style's queen Michelle & Marie and came to the conclusion that i do have fun sharing my own personal style and giving you a little glimpse on all my great vintage finds and my love of wearing it..
the above outfit is a great 80's fuchsia pink draped cape, with a great cut... i love the over-sized fit...the print is adorable big black bows toss print..i'm big on color it is an eye catcher..the black dress was once a long satin dress i cut short (i've had it since junior high), left it a raw edge hem and the shoes are platform sandals my mom got me a while back from payless...it is a bargain outfit!
i first thought of this little number going to the shop but i'm having allot of fun wearing it..but i might just have to part with it..i'll let you know..
i will be working all weekend on more post and new vintage updates..

MY NOSTALGIA
long time since my last post, really wanting to keep the consistency so i am trying to balance it all and see how it fits into my schedule or more like pinning down a schedule. for all you gals that work a full time job while working on your small business in between and raising a pre-teen child...i know you feel me..!
with that said i love what i do as a career and most of all i take pride in being a mom, so no complaints on trying to juggle it all!
well this weekend i went on my nostalgic trip back to the late 80's and early 90's, which meant my pre-teen / teen years. i started searching the web and You Tubing in memory of the music, movies, clothes and all around things i was into at that time.
here are a few things down my memory lane, not all of them i'm into now but they were a part of my growing up culture and it brought back many memories:
1. my 80's hair bands, loved loved loved Cinderella and i had the biggest crush on Brett Micheal's of Poison, I also attended many concerts, especially Poison three times with my Aunt taking us young kids...poor her:
they actually wore some pretty great pieces...outfits i would wear now!
2. bought Some Kind of Wonderful to add to my 80's collection, Mary Stuart Masterson was so cute in this movie! love her gloves, ahh and those acid washed jeans:
3. also remembering the skater fashions of the day, Vision Street Wear, Body Glove, OP etc..bright neon colors and crazy graphics, some of my favorite outfits..also loved the hairstyles...these guys were it in the day:
4. loved D'arcy's from the original bassist of Smashing Pumpkin style..in the early 90's, when i hit high school she influenced my style allot..especially the flowered dress's with boots and burgundy lipstick...i lived in that lipstick:
5. found some of the 90's video's i would watch on MTV when they actually played video's..came across this one and it took me back to the the Kitchen Club in Miami which at the time was the best dance club playing Goth, Punk, Industrial and more...it was the best time with my girlfriends:
can't wait for Saturday my beautiful daughter comes back from grandma's and she and i will be working on D.I.Y. projects and paintings together..she wants to take up painting her characters again...can't wait!
