NEED MORE CHANEL IN MY LIFE!

Happy Monday! i have many collections i have started, such as my vintage scarf collection and 80's memorabilia collection. but the one which i've been called a pack rat and hoarder for is my magazine collection. although i got called these names when people helped me move or saw my stash; i am thankful i kept the collection to look back on the fashion of the day. it's my own archive which i started when i was a teenager knowing then that i wanted to go into fashion design.

so this week i'm looking at 1996 and i am smitten by this orange Chanel dress! in all my 18 years of thrift shopping i have never ran into a Chanel. i've ran into Karl Lagerfeld, Hermes, Valentino, Lanvin...but no Chanel! this would be the perfect dress i would want to score, here's to hoping..

Have any of you scored thrifted Chanel? please do share..

NO MAKEUP, NO HAIRSTYLE, JUST ME

OUTFIT POST: NO MAKEUP, UNDONE HAIR, JUST ME

Happy Friday! today was a great day. there is a little crisp chill in the air in sunny California. i went to go have lunch with my kiddo at her school, in the park. and then topped it off with good conversation with my buddie Gloria over coffee. it's nice having these moments with out the constraints of the 9 to 5 big fashion company job in my case!

the wave is coming soon though as i'm working on getting the Shop ready for the Holiday season and also preparing for Spring 11 production at Misha LuLu. but both things i LOVE doing and have my heart in..

i also very much enjoyed being comfortable today not having done my make up, hair and pretty much threw on what touched my hand first in the closet. those jeans and t-shirt days!

OUTFIT POST: NO MAKEUP, UNDONE HAIR, JUST ME

i'm very comfortable on not wearing makeup as i've gotten older. i always joke that i wore enough makeup in my teens to cover the rest of my life. yes i pounded that puppy on, i think that's why i shy away now. but really i'm not a big makeup wearer despite not being blessed with the best skin. although i do like how i look when i put it on, but it's liberating not feeling pressured to have to wear it!

the trade off is that i did at least get hair that cooperates! i don't have to do much to tame it!

OUTFIT POST: NO MAKEUP, UNDONE HAIR, JUST ME

so here's to those days where we just want to be all undone! no frills, no cover up just me!

LIGHT AND SHADOWS

LIGHT & SHADOW: OUTFIT POST 11-9

Happy Thursday All! i'm not a professional photographer and i haven't taken any classes, although it's on my list of "wants to", but i LOVE photography and LOVE taking photos. so in my self taught stages i like experimenting with light, shadows and colors and want to take the opportunity to do so in my "outfit post" and really all my post!

on this gorgeous a.m. day the sun was fully at it's peak and i spotted this brick wall. if i could have a brick wall in my home i would, i love the texture and it's rustic look.

LIGHT & SHADOW: OUTFIT POST 11-9

i also like how this brick wall had it's traditional red color and the other half was it's raw color. the contrast between the light and shadows; yay perspective captured! so tricky in self taken photos. i did not intend to have so much shadowing on my face, but i see how just the way you tilt your body is how much of the light  falls on you. it's all fun for me.

LIGHT & SHADOW: OUTFIT POST 11-9

one thing about my style is that i'm pretty much all over the place. i consider myself eclectic and don't necessarily like to stick to one type of style. i've pretty much always been that way and like experimenting with all types of clothing. that's how i also see my SHOP. i like to carry every era, every type of clothing style, it's where my eye goes. primarily i've always had something vintage on as far back as 14 years old, but i love modern clean lined clothes too. i just can't stick to liking one type of style, it's just not me. i know i'll have to refine that once i start my own line. i've been thinking about it allot, it's a hard thing because you do have to think about your customer too.

PIXIE MARKET HOW I LOVE YOU!

Hi guys! i know it's been a while, i really hate when i neglect my blog but family and work are the higher priority BUT i love blogging and am strategizing how to balance it better.

with that said i have been doing allot of on-line window shopping. i am truly enjoying some of the great on-line shops that have popped up and Pixie Market has become a favorite! right now more then ever they are carrying quite a few garments i want to get my hands on. unfortunately for me the budget is not there but i can always admire.

the two reasons i have grown to become a fan is

1. i love the mix of urban, clean, chic, modern and vintagy type of clothes they carry.

2. they style it Oh So Cute!

these are a few favorites..

this maxi is so cute with it's short bell sleeve, v-neck cut and lace fabric! to bad it sold out but they might get more see HERE.

this black velvet burnout kaftan from American Gold has been on my radar for a while. Suzanne's line which keeps growing has also grown to bring very cute 70's inspired pieces that become keepers in your closet. she is also sweet as pie! love how they styled it..you can get HERE and HERE.

this brown slouchy granny jacket paired with the bottom booties..perfect!

jacket HERE. booties HERE.

love this combination very clean and chic. the blouse HERE is Mink Pink another line that keeps getting better.

loving the tassle booties HERE socks are cool too!

LOVE the concept of these pants HERE, but i don't think i can pull them off.

i'm not big on leather pants HERE but these are divine and the color so sweet.

AUTUMN BLUES

WARDROBE POST: AUTUMN BLUES

Just when i was about to do this post i thought how nice it was to chronicle my 30's. the thought crossed my mind because seldom do we have weekly pictures of ourselves "regularly". i think back to my teens and 20's and i have many scattered photos through out those years but no weekly photo's which captured my many changes, outfits, growth and aging process; sorta which i did. it's nice to look back almost like those yearly school pictures which show how much you have changed. but now i get to do it in my 30's which will be interesting as i move towards my 40's (ooof i just quivered a little at the thought)..

time sure flies and like in many areas of life you wish you could of done something allot more or different, i definitely would have wanted to take allot more photo's of those years.

well here's to celebrating my 30's!

WARDROBE POST: AUTUMN BLUES

this dress is pretty fun and comfortable with it's peek-a-boo back. the print reminds me of corn, i would actually love it to be a corn print, that would be pretty unique..

WARDROBE POST: AUTUMN BLUES

i am loving how at least im getting a little taste of fall colors here in California, does not compare to the fall colors of Georgia but i'll take what i can get!
